On August 23, 2008, Dr. Dre's son, Andre Young Jnr, was found dead in his Woodland Hills home In California. He was reported to have died from a drug overdose.

The statement also disclosed that Young Jr had spent the night before his death hanging out with some of his friends. While addressing the loss, Andre Young Sr (Dr. Dre) released a statement through his publicist, Lori Earl. The statement read:

"Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time."

Xzibit, a rapper and friend of Dr. Dre, also told People that he was giving the bereaved father some space to come to terms with what had happened.

Xzibit, who had also previously lost his two weeks old son Xavier, described the pain of a parent burying their child as unexplainable.

Apart from his late son, the legendary rapper is father to five other children; Curtis, La Tonya, Marcel, Truth, and Truly.

While several people mourned the sudden death of Andre, his friends and family, who spent the most time with him, remembered him as a happy and optimistic person.

A former roommate of Young Jr, Sarah Steinhorn remembered her late friend as someone who would look on the positive side of life even when things didn't go his way. She also said:

"I remember him liking to go to parties in high school but not for the reasons that people think."

According to Sarah, Andre liked parties only because he enjoyed being around people and meeting new people as well. Back in 1990, Young Jr was the subject of a child support dispute.

His mother, Jenita Porter, had requested a monthly child support fee of $5000 in a lawsuit filed against Dr. Dre. Apart from his late son, the legendary rapper is father to five other children; Curtis, La Tonya, Marcel, Truth, and Truly.

Over the last two decades, Dr. Dre has become one of the most successful rappers in the music industry. With several awards and achievements, he has truly made a name for himself!!.
