ONE PROUD DAUGHTER
Nia has always been vocal about how much she admires and appreciates her mother, even being brought to tears during an interview about her mom's strength. Speaking about her role as a mom, she revealed it was a difficult decision for her to become a single mother when she separated from her partner.
Ultimately, she revealed it was her mom who inspired and motivated her to be strong and have the confidence to do what she felt was right at the time. Moments after, the actress was in tears as she recounted her mom's resourcefulness as a single parent that allowed her to be who she is today.
A NEW PERSPECTIVE
The "Empire" star has two sons, her eldest Massai Zhivago Dorsey II, and youngest, Kez Sunday Udoka. She welcomed Kez in 2012 with boyfriend Ime Udoka, and she once shared that she felt "reborn" since his arrival.
“Baby Kez Sunday has given me a bit of a rebirth and it’s really nice because I’m able to look at life through his eyes."
A RELEVANT REALIZATION
Although it's been years since she gave birth to Kez, her realizations about life continue to be relevant today, particularly the importance of looking at life simply, without having to stress or worry about anything. It's a refreshing feeling, and it's quite timely especially with all that's been happening.
