Grace Kelly's Granddaughter Pauline Ducruet Already Launched a Clothing Line at 26 — Meet Her

Pauline Ducruet is the 26-year-old granddaughter of actress Grace Kelly. She launched her own fashion company, Alter Designs, in 2017.

According to Tatler, Pauline is the second child of Princess Stephanie of Monaco and Daniel Ducruet. Born in 1994, she is presently sixteenth in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne.

Pauline's maternal grandmother is American actress Grace Kelly. She has an older brother named Louis and three half-siblings — Michael Ducruet, Linoué Ducruet, and Camille Gottlieb.

A FAN OF FASHION

Pauline grew up in Monaco. She has consistently been a fan of fashion. She went to Paris to study styling at Instituto Marangoni after she completed high school.

Pauline then landed internships at both Vogue and Louis Vuitton and a degree in Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design as well.

Along with her friend Maria Zarco, she launched her own label, Alter Designs, which is a unisex brand, in 2017.

PERSONAL STYLE ICON

In an interview with Tatler, Pauline said that she always dreamed about having her own brand. She referred to her mom, Princess Stephanie, as her personal style icon.

"She always played a huge role in how I see fashion because I grew up seeing her dress up for galas and admiring photos of her in the Eighties," she said.

In 2019, Pauline's first runway show debuted at Paris Fashion Week.

VERY CHIC

In spite of the fact that her own designs take their ideas from the more contemporary as well, Pauline likewise acknowledges the endless allure of her grandma Grace Kelly.

"My family has a more formal style I'd say but always very chic," she said. "I think they influenced me in that way and the rawness of Alter comes from a more streetwear inspiration."

In 2019, Pauline's first runway show debuted at Paris Fashion Week. The event saw the royal family of sit in the front row.

The collection was a mix of upcycled denim and sleek silk pieces. It excellently blended contemporary cuts with a classic sensibility and is entirely unisex.

Amidst the novel coronavirus pandemic, Pauline, who is generally based in New York, has been staying with her mother and half-sister Camille.

According to her, getting to slow down and take some quality time with them has been great. Pauline has also been taking this time to look towards what's to come.

As reported by the New York Post, Pauline helped train elephants for two years in Switzerland as a kid. She was also a champion diver who represented Monaco at the World Junior Diving Championships and the Summer Youth Olympics in 2010.
