Barroso met Damon in 2003 when he was filming the movie "Stuck on You" in Florida, according to IMDB. Two years later, in 2005, the actor and Barroso, a native of Salta, Argentina, got married in New York City Hall.
The couple has three children - Isabella, Gia Zavala, and Stella Zavala. Before having them, Barroso has a child named Alexia from a previous relationship.

MEETING IN MIAMI
The Hollywood actor revealed more details about his long-time relationship with his wife. He met Barroso inside a Miami bar in 2003, where she worked as a bartender, as reported by Closer Weekly.
He was not supposed to go out that night, but a crew member he worked for a film with dragged him out. Damon saw Barroso just across the room. Damon gushed:

"Eight years and four kids later, that's my life. I don't know how else our paths would've crossed if that didn't happen."

PRIVATE FAMILY LIFE
No matter how glamorous and glitzy the world Damon is in, the actor has retained the privacy of his family. He never let fame get in the way of their enjoyment as a family.
With many years of marriage behind them, Damon said he is lucky to have Barroso in his life. For the actor, it was a blessing to fall in love with someone not in show business.

A COUPLE'S AGREEMENT
"Not an actress and not a famous actress at that. Because then the attention doesn't double — it grows exponentially," Damon explained.
Damon and Barroso are one of the best couples in Hollywood. In order to maintain a solid relationship, the couple has an agreement to never spend two weeks apart, as reported by Vogue.

Damon recalled a situation where he was required to go to South Africa for a movie shoot. Aside from taking his family on his trip, he also brought in his daughter's classmates and arranged a 10-day field trip.
He said it was a great trip because he got to be together with his family and their children didn't have to take absences from school.

He added that there will always be a way not to sacrifice family time for movie shoots. Indeed, Damon's celebrity status has not affected the way he and his family live together.
