Since Karl’s retirement, they have had time to strengthen their relationship and also grow their family and businesses. A recent post on Kay’s Instagram shows her spending time by the poolside with her “huggy bear” in their Malone home.
[Kay Malone] was very accepting of her husband’s past and regarded his children from previous relationships as part of her family.
Before quarantine, the duo also spent time supporting their children and attending their games and events, going on hunting trips together, and even visiting the beach to spend time away from their large family.
During their marriage, Kay, a former Miss USA participant, has witnessed her husband’s legendary basketball career and retirement.
She also saw him acknowledge the three children he fathered before their marriage, fraternal twins, Cheryl and Daryl Ford, 39 and former American football tackle, Demetress “Mechie” Bell, 36. Together, however, they have four children, Kadee, Kylee, Karl Jr. “KJ,” and Karlee.
The Malones own a conglomerate of businesses, some of which are located within Ruston, Louisiana, inclusive of a Teriyaki Grill restaurant, a Karl Malone clothing store, an apartment complex for college students, and the newly opened Legends Cigar and Vape.
Others, as reported by Deseret, are situated in Salt Lake City, and they include several cars, motorcycles, ATVs, and snowmobiles dealerships.
With his basketball years behind him, Malone has had ample time to reflect on his past actions and right his wrongs.

What is most important to him now is fatherhood and grand-fatherhood. In his chat with Deseret, the NBA star admitted his new reality:
“what’s cool to me is seeing all the kids and grandkids together.”
As far back as 1998, the JET magazine shared that she was very accepting of her husband’s past and regarded his children from previous relationships as part of her family when she spoke to an audience in Salt Lake City.
The following year, 1999, Karl was, according to Britannica, named NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the second time despite facing paternity lawsuits the previous year.
IMDB’s profile on the former basketball player reveals he admitted to fathering the Ford twins but initially denied the paternity of Demetress Bell and later settled out of court with Bell’s family.
