People: Mary-Kate Olsen and Husband Oliver Sarkozy Split over Having Kids

Mark-Kate Olsen and husband Olivier Sarkozy have agreed to part ways. However, new details are emerging about what could have caused this rift.

People Magazine reported that earlier this week, the couple had disagreed on several subjects, which led to their split. More particularly, however, is the fact that they had different views on children.

As the news report explained, the 33-year-old fashion designer was looking forward to having children. Olivier, however, wasn't so enthusiastic about it.

Olivier already has two children with his ex-wife, Charlotte Bernard. For reasons still unknown, he reportedly wasn't ready to have another one. They talked about it, and both seemed to have made their stand pretty clear.

The news medium also explained that this problem soon grew. However, while it was a significant factor, it wasn't the only problem that the couple had. A source close to People said:

"Olivier is a party boy and a big spender. He loves the high life. Mary-Kate prefers to be quiet and alone and doing the things she likes..."

Such parallels soon became clear, and the couple grew apart as time went on. While Olivier continued to be more outgoing, the introverted Mary-Kate still wasn't into that lifestyle.

This compounded with the fact that they had different views on whether or not to start a family, it was evident that the marriage wouldn't work. Eventually, they decided to get a divorce last month.

Mary-Kate had filed for an emergency divorce in hopes of speeding things up.

The details concerning their divorce have been particularly juicy. Earlier this month, reports confirmed that Mary-Kate's career had become a sticking point for the couple.

Mary-Kate and her sister, Ashley, run two successful clothing brands – "The Row," and "Elizabeth and James." As a news report confirmed, she appeared to be prioritizing that over the marriage. A source explained:

"She's super career-focused, and he's very French and wanted her to be more available. You can't control a girl who has been on the billionaire track since her 20s."

The differences between the couple appear to have been more than they can handle. It's almost no wonder they decided to move on from each other.
