People: Mary-Kate Olsen's Ex Olivier Sarkozy Wanted to Have a Stay-at-Home Wife
Mary-Kate Olsen has filed for divorce from her ex Olivier Sarkozy, who a source has said was looking for a stay-at-home wife.
Divorces in the celebrity world have a tendency to turn ugly, and the latest one is no different. Mary-Kate Olsen has filed for divorce from her ex Olivier Sarkozy, and things are getting messy.
The fashion mogul privately signed papers seeking a divorce from Sarkozy, however, New York City courts are not accepting divorce fillings except in emergencies.

Olsen had requested an emergency order, after citing fears that she would be forced out of their shared apartment.
According to a source, it was Mary-Kate’s focus on her career that caused tension in her marriage to the banker. They said,
“She is the type of person who would never complain about a 12-hour workday. Olivier never understood her drive and passion. ”

According to People, Olsen said that her attorneys had received an email from Sarkozy’s lawyer stating that she had to move out of the couple’s apartment by May 18th.
The designer asked him to extend the deadline due to stay-at-home mandates, but claims he did not respond. She also claimed he terminated their lease without her knowledge.
She was concerned that her husband would dispose of both private and marital belongings.
In the affidavit to the court, Mary-Kate asked the court to deem her application an emergency to protect her belongings left in the house.
She wrote that she was concerned that her husband would dispose of both private and marital belongings, saying,
“I am petrified that my husband is trying to deprive me of the home that we have lived in...I will not only lose my home but I risk losing my personal property as well.”

The divorce petition would trigger an automatic court order, that would prevent Sarkozy from disposing of her property.
However, the New York City courts have denied her application for divorce as the judge did not deem it an emergency.

The private couple was married in November 2015. The small ceremony took place at a private residence with about 50 guests in attendance.
They first began dating in 2012, and initially raised some eyebrows due to their 16 year age gap, however.
