Singer Monica Celebrates Her Son Rodney's 15th Birthday with Sweet Photos

Singer Monica takes to Instagram to share adorable pictures of her son, Rodney, with her other kids to celebrate his fifteenth birthday.

On May 21, singer Monica shared several pictures in honor of her son, Rodney Ramone Hill III’s fifteenth birthday, with lengthy heartfelt messages, expressing how much she loved her baby boy. In one post, she shared a series of pictures with Rodney and his younger brother. She captioned:

“Even on YOUR day, You Got HIS back.... Happy 15th Birthday @rockohill ... Today & Everyday we Love & Appreciate you!! Being the oldest is a BIG responsibility.”

She acknowledged how well her first son had assumed the role of big brother and prayed that nothing would come between the bond he and his siblings shared.

The second post featured a picture of Rodney alone. He was dressed in an all-black ensemble while his golden-tipped locks framed his face.

The other pictures showed him having precious moments with his brother, Romelo, and his sister, Laiyah. Her fans and followers joined her in wishing her baby boy a happy fifteenth birthday.

Monica’s kids were forced to read rumors and twisted versions of her divorce.

Monica shares her two boys, Romelo and Rodney, with her former partner and rapper, Rocko, before they finally separated in 2010 with a cheating scandal surrounding their split. Her daughter, Laiyah, was born to her and NBA player, Shannon Brown.

The same year her split from the rapper was finalized, she met NBA player Shannon Brown, and they tied the knot secretly in November. In 2019, they, unfortunately, encountered challenges in their relationship and split up. The singer admitted that her kids had been deeply affected. She said:

“They’re definitely impacted. Even more than us because we know what’s taking place, sometimes, when they don’t. In their minds, they’re always trying to figure out what happened...”

She added that while her children were trying to find their footing amid the mess her divorce made, she was also doing her best to make sure that they were okay. She added that her eleven-year-old had innocently asked her if there was a way she could stop the divorce.

Social media did not help the situation either. Her kids had to read the rumors and twisted stories that the tabloids told, which eventually led to some more difficult questions at home.

Even more complicating, neither Monica nor Shannon had revealed what caused their split. All three of her kids were confused without the answers, and she couldn’t help but explain to her oldest son the truth about what the new change meant to them all.

That was definitely not easy for her and the kids, but if anyone could pull it off, it was Monica. She had had a rocky history, including witnessing her former boyfriend, Corey Miller, commit suicide.

The challenges presented by her unhappy marriages would not stop Monica from continuing to be who she has always been — kind-hearted amazing singer and, of course, the best mommy to her kids.
