According to the "Jumanji" star, he saw his recovery as a challenge to be a better version of who he was before the crash.
When asked for details about his injuries, Kevin revealed that the accident left him with a fractured spine, which was eventually fused with some screws. Speaking further, he said:
"...it's about getting your back to be comfortable with the metal and getting back to a normal type of flexibility."
The 40-year-old also spoke about how he constantly underplayed the pain he experienced while in the hospital. Despite the horrible pain, Kevin explained to Joe that he refused all pain relief medications.
Hart also revealed that the doctors informed him he would be able to walk again if he could be patient, and this motivated him to get into a battle with himself.
Rebecca Broxterman did not record any severe injuries.
Before leaving the hospital, Kevin was already attempting to regain his locomotive skills and barely two weeks of going home from the hospital, he was able to walk.
The "Think Like A Man" star continued by revealing that he had the biggest cry of his life on the day he returned home from the hospital. He added:
"There was an option of me never seeing that home again…. There was an option of me never seeing my wife and my kids again."
Since Hart's return home, the movie star has stayed faithful to his fitness training. In a recent Instagram post, the father of three was seen lifting dumbells before he began showing off his dance moves.
Last October, the California Highway Patrol identified reckless driving as the cause of the crash. At the time of the accident, Kevin was traveling in a vintage car alongside Jared Black and his fiancee.
While Jared also sustained back injuries, his fiancee, Rebecca Broxterman, did not record any severe injuries. Hart is currently married to Eniko Parrish, with whom he shares one child, Kenzo.
Kevin is also father to two other kids; Hendrix and Heaven from his previous marriage to Torrei Hart.
