Meet MBL Star Clayton Kershaw’s Wife Ellen Who Does Charity Work for At-Risk Children
Although some people might find it difficult to believe, Dodgers star player, Clayton Kershaw has been married to his wife, Ellen Melson, for nearly a decade.

According to the Kershaw’s Challenge website, Ellen who has done well to maintain a low key profile, her philanthropy journey began in 2011 when she met a little girl named Hope.
[Clayton Kershaw] and his wife announced in April that they had raised more than $85,000 in two weeks to benefit organizations in Los Angeles and Dallas.
Even though the then-9-year-old had built up walls due to the abuse she suffered, she and Ellen had an instant connection.
Through their conversations, Ellen realized that the little girl needed a safe place to call home. Without that safe place and the presence of attentive parents, it would be near impossible for Hope to have the childhood that she deserved.
With the intent to give Hope and children like her a safe abode, Ellen began Kershaw’s Challenge, which is focused on at-risk and vulnerable children.
Over the years, the charity organization has grown into a platform that celebrities and public figures use to show their charitable sides.
Back in 2019, Hollywood Reporter reported several Dodgers players joined Ellen and her husband for the latter’s 7th Annual Ping Pong 4 a Purpose event which was held at the Dodgers Stadium.
Ping Pong 4 a Purpose is a charity that focuses on giving grants to selected organizations, including one that rescues girls who have been sex trafficked in the Dominican Republic.
Dodger Blue reported in the same year that the couple hosted their sixth annual KC Live event in Dallas. Just like Ping Pong 4 a Purpose, the KC Live event is a significant event that is put together by Kershaw’s Challenge annually.
Although he looks happy with his life, Clayton previously made it clear that he owed his children - Cali and Charley - for inspiring him to make an impact on people’s lives through Kershaw’s Challenge.
According to Dodgers Nation, Clayton has also revealed that helping others has created an avenue for him to take his mind away from losses on the field. Even during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the baseball pitcher and his wife have come through for people.
CBS Los Angeles reported that the baseball pitcher and his wife announced in April that they had raised more than $85,000 in two weeks to benefit organizations in Los Angeles and Dallas helping people affected by the pandemic.
The news of their generosity came months after Dodgers Nation divulged that the couple welcomed their third child together in January.
According to the site, Clayton broke the baby news through an Instagram post that saw his family taking turns to hold the new baby, Cooper Ellis, in their arms.
