The Daytime Emmy Awards just announced their list of nominees, and CBS' "The Talk" got nominated for six different categories. For the first time ever, the awards show will be done virtually and will air on CBS on Friday, June 26.
A CHANGE OF PLANS
The Awards show was originally a red carpet event set to happen in June, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this plan was canceled. Now, they are ready to have a different approach to it by doing it online.
During the broadcasted awards, winners and special guests will be in the comfort of their homes to try and practice the social distancing protocols put in place. To organizers, continuing with the Daytime Emmy Awards is an ode to the best of daytime television.
CANCELED EVENTS
After all, daytime shows have kept people entertained and informed for many years, especially now that a lot of them have been staying home. Ultimately, it is an important genre of television that definitely deserves its own awards night.
