The former couple who share two kids issued a joint statement announcing their split to the publication, which read:
“Sean and Jill are committed to working together for the best interests of their children. Amicable agreements were entered into over four years ago between Sean and Jill.”
As revealed by close friends of the couple, Sean and Jill have been separated for years and legally divorced for more than a year now, however, they chose to hide it from the world.
Hannity is also the owner of a seven-bedroom, 11,000-plus square foot mansion, which he bought for $8.5 million in 2008.
When asked what caused their painful split, an insider close to the former lovebirds revealed that their divorce was nothing short of “amicable” as neither party was involved with someone else.
However, the friend noted that “Sean is basically a workaholic.” It will be recalled that rumors of a split first surfaced before the COVID-19 pandemic when Hannity was attending events without his better half.
Per US Weekly, Hannity and Rhodes tied the knot in January 1993 and are parents to a son and a daughter: Patrick, 21, and Merri, 18.
Despite their uneventful breakup, it will be recalled that during their union, the 58-year-old “Hannity” host credited Jill for helping him launch his career as a political commentator.
He even dedicated his first book, “Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty Over Liberalism,” which he published in 2002 to her and their children, saying that they make all the work worthwhile.
Sean and his now ex-wife lived in Long Island, New York, during their time together, per People Magazine. However, a 2014 Variety report noted that they put their 4-bedroom apartment in Lloyd Neck for $3.6 million.
The property which they initially purchased for $3,450,000 boasts of a 4,824 square foot residence with five and a half bathrooms, six fireplaces and a three-car garage in the basement.
