Kelly Clarkson to Divorce Brandon Blackstock – See Her Fans' Reactions

Days after it was announced that Singer Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from husband of almost seven years, Brandon Blackstock, fans have taken to social media to air their opinions.

According to ET Online, after almost seven years of marriage, Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock have called it quits.

The acclaimed singer filed for divorce from Brandon on June 4, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for joint custody of their two kids, River 5, Remington, 4.

Unfortunately, the decision to go away to Montana for isolation only wrecked more havoc on their relationship.

She also requested termination of her ability to give Brandon spousal support, legal restoration of her last name to Clarkson, and enforcement of their premarital agreement ensuring both parties pay for their attorney fees.

Ever since the news of the shocking split broke out, die-hard fans have taken to social media to air their opinions, with many of them feeling devastated by the separation.

A sad fan cried out, hoping that the news wasn't true while another joked about this not being the 2020 she ordered. A user by the name Lucy noted that she was more upset about the divorce than she thought she would be.

Twitter user Robin who was hurt by the news, offered some prayers for Clarkson and sent her some love assuring her that she would be okay through it all.

A source close to the couple revealed to ET Online that their split came as no surprise as they always had issues and hoped that time away during the quarantine would reconcile.

"The constant time together seemed to make an already challenging situation worse. Kelly knew she just needed to follow her heart and finally realized divorce was her only option."

Although their loved ones knew about the trouble in paradise, this wasn't the case for fans as the news of their split came barely two months after Brandon wished his wife a happy birthday on social media.

Another ET Online report noted that Kelly even called her ex-husband her "partner-in-crime" in an interview just last month. The pair first crossed paths in 2006 but reunited six years later after Blackstock's divorce from his first wife.

By the end of 2012, they got engaged and tied the knot on October 20, 2013, and welcomed their two kids in the space of two years.

ET Online recalls that Kelly had frequently spoken about her union's bliss to Brandon, crediting their intense attraction for one another as one of their secrets.
