'The Talk' Co-hosts Share Their Excitement in Hosting the Daytime Emmy Awards This Year
The 47th Daytime Emmy Awards are going ahead as planned despite the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease. The awards will be hosted by the awesome ladies from “The Talk.”
During their virtual episode of “The Talk” on Thursday, co-hosts Sheryl Underwood, Sharon Osbourne, Eve Cooper, Marie Osmond, and Carrie Ann Inaba, announced they had a hosting gig coming up. The five women revealed that they would be hosting this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards.
The daytime talk show’s Instagram page shared a video of the announcement with the women co-hosting from their respective homes. The talk show has been held remotely to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

HOSTING AWARDS VIRTUALLY
Fans can expect to see the women, virtually, on June 26, 2020, from 8 to 10 P.M. ET/PT on CBS. Inaba explained how the awards would be held stating: "The awards will be presented virtually with daytime's biggest stars appearing from their homes straight into your living rooms.”
The official Daytime Emmy Awards social media accounts confirmed the thrilling news too. Underwood was as excited as the other four women about the development.
EXPECTING A FUN HOSTING GIG
She anticipated that hosting the awards would be “a lot of fun." Since 2016, Underwood has had the pleasure of co-hosting the awards annually.
PAST AWARD CEREMONIES
The last time the awards were televised was in 2015 on Pop TV, they’ve been streamed online ever since. To add more fire to the excitement, “The Talk” has been nominated for the Entertainment Talk Show and Entertainment Talk Show Host category.
“THE TALK’S” PAST WINS
In 2016 and 2018, the talk show won the award for in the Entertainment Talk Show category. Winners for this year’s ceremony will accept the award from the comfort of their homes.
ANNOUNCING WINNERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Awards will be announced on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, while others will be given out in a separate ceremony in July 2020. This will be the fourteenth time CBS broadcasts the ceremony.
CBS READY TO BROADCAST AWARDS
Jack Sussman, the Executive Vice President, Specials, Music and Live Events at CBS gave a statement about the network hosting the awards. He said: "As a leader in daytime, we are thrilled to welcome back the Daytime Emmy Awards."
Sussman revealed how CBS was looking “forward to celebrating the best of the genre here on CBS."
