The Rock's Unexpected Comment About Kevin Hart's Wife Ignites Buzz After Netflix Roast
The legendary action star showed up to his best friend's roast and immediately made everyone, including the guest of honor, deeply uncomfortable in the best possible way.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson crashed Kevin Hart's Netflix roast on Sunday, May 10, 2026, with a pyrotechnic entrance and an R-rated set that had the audience collectively gasping. But it was what Johnson said about Hart's wife, Eniko Hart (née Parrish), that truly sent the night spiraling into chaos.

He Came to Roast, Not to Carry
Johnson arrived late in the evening at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with laser beams blazing and Queen's "We Will Rock You" rattling the speakers, earning a standing ovation before he'd even opened his mouth.

But the star wasted no time setting the tone. "Now, I know what you're all assuming is that I'm here to carry another [expletive] Kevin Hart vehicle, but for once, that's not the case," Johnson said from the stage.

Instead, he revealed he was there to "chew up Kevin's food and spit it in his mouth," calling him his "little chocolate baby bird" and his "little Burnt Oompa-Loompa." The crowd barely had time to breathe before Johnson shifted his attention elsewhere entirely.

The Part That Sent Kevin Hart Over the Edge
Johnson paused to acknowledge the women on the dais and then asked the audience if they realized who else looked beautiful. His answer was "Kevin's wife, Eniko."
Hart immediately shot back with an audible "What the [expletive]," to which Johnson calmly replied, "I'm just giving her compliments!"

What followed was anything but complimentary, at least from Hart's perspective. Johnson went on to suggest that Eniko "deserves an Academy Award for pretending she likes to [expletive] you" and proposed they share a bottle of tequila together.
The Rock then dramatically told Hart to "stop squirming." He also gave his own theory on why women find Hart so appealing, comparing Hart's size and energy to a particular item.

Chelsea Handler, already seated on the dais, leaned into the chaos with a question of her own, asking the crowd, "Don't you think it's time for Eniko to be with somebody that is bigger than her?"
The Tattoo That Landed the Punchline
Johnson closed out his set with a declaration of love for Hart, then immediately undermined it. "Just to prove it, just last week, I got a Kevin Hart tattoo on my [expletive]. Yeah, life-size too," he said, before adding, "Eniko, I'll show you later. Kidding. She's already seen it!"

The audience erupted. Hart, visibly rattled, fired back, "Why would you say that about my [expletive] wife? I want to talk to you later."
Johnson's defense was simple. "But you're the one who said, 'Hey, listen, [expletive] say anything you want!'" he replied, which was both a perfect roast callback and, honestly, a pretty airtight argument.

Fans Had a Lot to Say
The internet had opinions almost immediately. On X, one person wrote, "This Kevin Hart roast is wild... somehow the Rock made it wildly uncomfortable 🤣 [sic]."

Reactions under Variety's post ranged from "Unbelievable" to "Gross!" to a simple "This is vicious 😂."
And over on another thread, someone summed it up as, "The Rock and Chelsea Handler roast Kevin Hart and bring up his wife 💀 was too INSANE [sic]."

A Bigger Night Than Anyone Expected
The Rock's appearance, as outrageous as it was, fit perfectly within a night that had already been running at full tilt.
The live roast, hosted by Shane Gillis and filmed as part of the final night of "Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026," opened with Tom Brady presenting Hart with a custom Knicks jersey and Usher performing a dedicated version of "Let It Burn."

The lineup included Lizzo, Pete Davidson, Draymond Green, Tony Hinchcliffe, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Sheryl Underwood, and Na'im Lynn, among others.
Underwood reportedly earned a standing ovation for a set that included a riff on Hart's height that had the entire room on its feet. The audience itself included Jennifer Lopez, John Stamos, Machine Gun Kelly, and Tracee Ellis Ross.

One of the more unexpected moments came when Hart introduced Katt Williams, whose onstage reunion with Hart came less than two years after Williams went viral for publicly criticizing Hart and calling him an "industry plant."
Still, nothing topped Johnson's entrance for sheer spectacle, which capped a night already packed with celebrity drive-bys, surprise appearances, and the kind of structured cruelty only a roast can deliver.

What Comes Next for Hart and Johnson
For all the staged beef, Johnson and Hart's friendship is the kind that shows up in matching tattoos and decade-long film franchises. The two have co-starred in "Central Intelligence," "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," and "Jumanji: The Next Level."
Their next collaboration, the third and supposedly final installment, "Jumanji: Open World," is set to hit theaters this Christmas.
And given the way Johnson spent Sunday night roasting his co-star's marriage, it's safe to say the press tour for that one is going to be very, very interesting.
