Savannah Guthrie Responds to Critic Who Commented on Her On-Air Hair Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic
Savannah Guthrie took criticism about her "distracting" hair in stride as the "Today Show" anchor responded to it being noticeable that the pandemic forced her to take styling matters into her own hands.
The 48-year-old news anchor, Savannah Guthrie, responded to a social media user who had a lot to say about the state of her hair during a recent appearance on the air.

SAVANNAH'S RESPONSE
Without adding any negativity, Guthrie took to Twitter on June 23 as she shared her thoughts on the criticism about her physical appearance and wrote:
“We are all doing our own hair and makeup during the pandemic. And yes it shows!”
With the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, media personalities had to make do without their usual entourage stylists to make sure their hair and makeup is perfect while some continued to film remotely at home.
THE CRITIQUE
The social media user initially said that Guthrie could at least appoint a hairstylist with "what they pay [her]," and added:
“I love the natural unkempt look but its distracting on @NBCNews national news.”
NO STYLISTS DURING LOCKDOWN
While social-distancing at her upstate New York home, Guthrie even shared how she ventured into dying her own hair since visiting a stylist amid lockdown is not possible.
However, the social media user did apologize for her comment to Guthrie later on, as said that she didn't "mean to be mean." Familiar with the demands of working in television, the netizen added that she worked in the industry for 32 years and said it surprised her that makeup artists would "let the hair slide on national TV for two days."
GUTHRIE MADE DO WITHOUT A STYLIST
Since Guthrie had to make do without the usual glam squad, it did make her realize how much she got "stuck in the 80s and 90s," as she told PEOPLE back in April.
While she knows about doing "her own glam" after years working in "broadcast news jobs," the NBC news anchor only realized how out of touch she became regarding makeup trends when she had to do without a stylist amid self-isolating at home.
HAPPY FACES AND FRESH AIR
Tuesday's episode of the "Today Show" had both Savannah Guthrie and her co-host Al Roker smile from ear to ear, leaving Hoda Kobt hoping they won't have "too much fun" without her as they got some fresh air.
Kobt stayed in the studio while Guthrie and Roker took to the streets of Hudson, New York, after months spent in lockdown.
