Meet NASCAR Star Jimmie Johnson's Wife Chandra Janway – Inside Her Life and Career
NASCAR star Jimmie Johnson has been married to Chandra Janway for sixteen years. Although she is married to a top athlete, not much is known about Janway. However, here are exciting things to note.
Jimmie Johnson is best known as an American professional stock car racing driver. As a seven-time champion in the NASCAR cup series, it is not surprising that Johnson is a top player in sports.
Outside of his career as a sportsman, Johnson has also built an equally successful and happy marriage with his wife, Chandra Janway, and here are five quick facts about her.

THEY GOT ENGAGED DURING A SNOWBOARD TRIP
Johnson and Janway met in 2002 after a mutual friend introduced them. A year after their initial meeting, Johnson reportedly proposed to his beau during a snowboarding trip in Colorado.
Johnson seemed to have put in extra effort and he was reported to have had a photographer capture their special moment.
On getting to the mountain top, Johnson popped the question, and Janway happily said yes. The adorable couple tied the knot the following year in St. Barts, an island in the Caribbean.
JANWAY IS AN EX MODEL
Janway, an Oklahoma native, graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2000, and following her graduation, she moved to New York, where she reportedly pursued a career in modeling. Janway worked at Wilhelmina, which was one of the most successful modeling agencies at the time.

JANWAY HAS TWO CHILDREN
Janway and Johnson share two beautiful children, Genevieve Marie Johnson and Lydia Norris Johnson. Although the two girls are still young, Genevieve seems to be a sports lover just like her dad.
She has made plenty of appearances on the sidelines of her dad’s races, and Johnson once tweeted a picture of his daughter’s helmet in 2014.
JANWAY LOST HER BROTHER
In March 2014, Janway lost her brother, Jordan, in a tragic skydiving accident. Before his death, Jordan, who was an instructor, had reportedly jumped over a thousand times during his career as a skydiver.
During the tragic event that led to his death, Jordan was reported to have collided with another diver and was knocked unconscious.
Unfortunately, due to his experience, Jordan wasn’t required to use a chip that would automatically open his parachute, and so he fell to his death.
JANWAY LOVES TRAVELING
Janway reportedly once admitted that she loved the traveling involved with Johnson’s job while also adding that she enjoyed watching her husband do what he loves.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Janway tested positive for the virus, and just last week, Johnson also tested positive, making him the first NASCAR driver to do so.
Although Johnson’s diagnosis resulted in him missing a race for the first time in his Cup season career, his focus is on both of his daughters.
While speaking about it, Johnson reportedly talked about how he and his wife’s diagnosis was affecting their children, who tested negative. According to him, it was heartbreaking to see his little girls scared of the present situation.
During a conversation with Aspen via “Zoom,” Johnson revealed how he and Janway were coping with their diagnosis while adding,
"We’re being very responsible in our home and trying to self-isolate, but at the same time we have to parent on top of their fears.”
Despite all of his achievements as a NASCAR driver, one thing is clear, Jimmie Johnson is a family man who would always look out for his wife and, most importantly, his children.
