CheatSheet notes that Ellen has a total of six pets, including the late Wolf which includes three dogs and three cats, who have a home in the bedroom she shares with Portia. Her love for animals has been something that has been with her since childhood, as she hoped to become a veterinarian in the future.

Although Ellen never became a veterinarian, that didn't stop her from helping animals in her own little way. People Magazine recalls that in February, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" host launched a new initiative called "Paws Up," which puts up photos of pets available for adoption on social media.

DeGeneres has been able to convince Meghan Markle and other stars to adopt a rescue animal, and there is no doubt she will have the same effect on her numerous fans.
