Jayne Kennedy took to Instagram to share a throwback picture of herself with former co-host Alex Trebek while wishing him a happy birthday.

Jayne Kennedy took to Instagram to share a throwback picture of herself and Alex Trebek and remarked that working with him was a pleasure.

Kennedy expressed that she remembered the days of working with Trebek when they both co-hosted the LA segment of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) annual telethon.

She added that Lou Rawls had created the show and for years, it was an absolute delight to have worked alongside Trebek and Rawls. To Trebek, she wrote:

"I hope your 80th was absolutely amazing. Sending love and prayers for more blessings each and every day. #happybirthday #alextrebek."

The throwback image Kennedy shared was a shot of herself and Trebek at the desk co-hosting the annual telethon. The pair looked younger and it was insightful to see the two legendary hosts together.

Following the post were comments from fans of Kennedy who admired the work of Trebek. Most wished Trebek a happy birthday stating that he was indeed an icon when it came to television hosting.

Kennedy's career took a different turn when a sex tape of her and her first husband got leaked to the press.

Another fan paid accolades to Trebek and Kennedy's skills, stating that the two were one of the people who made watching television in those days fun. Someone said:

Trebek, who recently released his new memoir, "The Answer is… Reflections On My Life," is the beloved host of the popular quiz game show, "Jeopardy," and his birthday is an exciting one not for him alone but his fans too.

Although he is 80-years old today, he does not plan on slowing down when it comes to hosting the show. And despite his tiresome battle with pancreatic cancer, he is hoping to do the best he can to keep the show running.

Interestingly, Trebek and Kennedy hosting the annual UNCF telethon in the 70s and 80s meant they were one of the celebrities people looked up to.
