People: Here's the Scoop on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Marriage Amid Recent Drama
Amid rapper Kanye West's controversial tweets and statements, a source close to West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, finally spoke out about his claims concerning a looming divorce.
Recently, rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West has had a string of controversial tweets and statements that have attracted a lot of attention.
Among these statements was an unexpected one, in which he claimed that he wanted to divorce his wife of six years — Kim Kardashian.

With the uproar that followed these claims, a source close to the husband and wife exclusively opened up about the state of West and Kardashian's marriage in an interview with People. The source said:
"There has been enough communication, both in the past few days and in the weeks prior, to establish that both sides feel the marriage is over."
According to People, West's somewhat erratic behavior and displays began after he announced that he was going to run for president. The rapper had a shocking on-stage rant at a launch event for his presidential campaign.
On stage, West revealed that he "almost killed his daughter," referring to how he and Kardashian considered getting an abortion when she was pregnant with their first child, North, in 2013.
Kardashian felt the need to stand by her husband through what she described as a manic episode.
ET reported that the beauty mogul was deeply upset with her husband and his recent behavior, appalled that he was not listening to anyone. The source said to ET:
"...At the end of the day, people close to Kanye want him to end this presidential run now before he does more damage to himself."
In one of his recent tweets (now deleted), West also claimed that he had been trying to divorce his wife for a long time. Although the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star was reportedly refusing to leave him until he got the medical help that he needed.
The 39-year-old reality star and her mother, Kris Jenner, were the main point of many of the alarming statements that West made on his social media, most of which were deleted thereafter.
The 43-year-old rapper accused Jenner of being a white supremacist, referring to her as "Kriss Jong Un" and saying that he did not want her near his children.
Regardless, Kardashian felt the need to stand by her husband through what she described as a manic episode, and be patient and compassionate until he got the help he needed.
