See How Kimora Lee Simmons' Daughter Aoki Has Been Studying Amid Summer
The fashion designer and TV personality’s teenage daughter is a proud Ivy League student and she is showing us how to enjoy the summer while keeping smarter.
17-year-old Aoki Lee Simmons was accepted into the prestigious Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts back in March 2019, but a year later, she had to evacuate the campus and go back home due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Nevertheless, neither the novel coronavirus nor summer seems to be able to stop the daughter of 45-year-old Kimora Lee Simmons from studying, even though she knows how to do it in a comfortable and enjoyable way.
On July 22, 2020, Aoki took to her Instagram account to share a paid sponsorship with Walmart on which she appears lying on her back on a rug extended on the grass as she holds a book in one hand and covers her face from the sun with the other, writing:
“Studying outside has never felt relaxing.”
While Aoki is barefoot wearing a pretty white summer dress, she is actually promoting Walmart's rug and the water bottle sitting next to her and a box of strawberries.
ON HER OWN MERIT
Back in March 2019, when Aoki was only 16, her proud mother Kimora was the first to share the wonderful news of her daughter's acceptance in the prestigious university, sharing a video of Aoki’s brother Kenzo reading the admission letter.

“We are sooo super proud of YOU!! Such hard work and only 16! You did it! It took years of super dedication and lots of tears! But HERE YOU ARE!!! GO GIRL!!!” an obviously excited Kimora captioned the clip in her Instagram feed.
Aoki’s admission to Harvard came around the time when the entire country was shocked by the college admissions scandal involving actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, which prompted Kimora to stress out in another post that her daughter had been admitted to the institution on her own merit.
WELCOMING GARY
Kimora and her second husband Tim Leissner started 2020 by welcoming a new addition to their mixed family, with the couple announcing the adoption of a 10-year-old boy named Gary.
This makes Kimora the mother of five children, having previously welcomed daughters Ming and Aoki with her former husband Russell Simmons, son Kenzo with actor Djimon Hounsou, and son Wolfe, with Leissner.
Before Kimora made the news official, she called Gary her son in an Instagram post, in addition to changing her profile description to appear as a “mom of 5.”
Kimora has been open about how she was born to be a mother, and now that her two older daughters have left home for college, she is ready to raise another son and provide him with the best opportunities.
