Daily Joke: A Band Director Was Having Trouble with a Drummer
Marching to the beat of his own drums, a musician came out on top twice due to nothing more than his clever thinking and a little hilarious percussion help. Enjoy!
Donny started his weekend with a bang, even though the orchestra he played in had final rehearsals before their performance on Sunday.
Bright and early on Saturday morning, Donny took his new girlfriend out for a beach breakfast before he surprised her with a stop at the jewelry store. "I'm looking for something nice for my love over here," Donny told the jewelry sales clerk with a toothy grin.

The first ring the clerk showed them failed to impress, so the clerk brought out a ring that sparkled appropriate to its $50,000 price tag. Immediately Donny's girl lit up at the sight of the gorgeous ring, so he decided to buy it for her.
"Since I know the funds will only clear in the store's account on Monday, I will pay now and come pick up the ring late on Monday afternoon. Would that be in order?" Donny asked the clerk, who nodded agreeably, appreciative of his sale.

But the morning went by in a whiff of adoration from his new girlfriend, and Donny found himself at rehearsal later, unable to gather any enthusiasm for their upcoming performance. The orchestra conductor had his hands full with Donny, who's drumming failed to improve, no matter how many times he spoke to him about it.
When the time for their performance came, Donny's tragic drumming negatively affected their entire show, and the conductor has had enough. Livid at the embarrassment, the conductor said he would handle the situation during Monday's rehearsal nonetheless.

At Monday's rehearsal, the conductor took out his anger at Donny as soon as he arrived. "When a so-called musician can't play his chosen instrument, we take it away and give him two sticks and a drummer. You get it?" the conductor fumed.
Moments of silence hung in the air before a voice pitched up from the percussion section, "And if he can't even handle two sticks, they take one away and make him a conductor."

Suddenly Donny's phone rang, startling the silence that fell over the room. The voice on the other end was that of the jewelry sales clerk. Also, not happy, the clerk boomed over the phone that his payment for the ring didn't clear because there is no money in the account.
This didn't perturb a now laughing Donny, who replied, "But can you imagine the amazing weekend I just had?"
The situation can sound somewhat familiar to a Kung Fu student who also struggled to master his chosen form of expression. To sneak in another daily joke, the determined young martial arts student might punch out extra laughter.
