According to Nantambu, the idea first came to him during rehearsals, and by the third or fourth practice, he was committed to following through.

Nantambu, a hip-hop artist and filmmaker known for speaking openly about Muslim identity and social justice issues, described the protest as an act of faith. "By the mercy and permission of Allah, it was me," he said.

He believed it was his responsibility to use that platform to raise awareness, saying, "I wanted to show that we are united, that they are loved and prayed for."

Nantambu's protest was about two humanitarian crises — Sudan's ongoing civil war and the conflict in Gaza. In Sudan, nearly two years of fighting have devastated the country, displacing millions and creating a dire humanitarian emergency.
