See the New Socially-Distanced AGT Set in Preparation for Its Upcoming Episodes
"America's Got Talent" takes on a new look for their set, and it will debut this week. The first episode of the talent show was filmed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Along with an upgraded look is a new intro for the Judge Cuts episode, which will begin on July 28. Judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara will arrive through a drive-in themed set, as reported by People.
The drive-in set was built in Simi Valley, California. The socially-distanced set was based on the state’s guidelines and safety protocols.
Sam Donelly, one of the executive producers of the show, explained that the drive-in format was a "good solution." In making the chosen theme a reality, Donelly said they prioritize the safety of the whole production team, as reported by Today.
The judges will come in while riding their vintage cars while show host Terry Crews will be six feet away from them They will all wear protective masks as the show goes on. Donelly said:
"We liked the idea of being outside on a movie set location. Having the judges outside, socially distanced, but in a way that didn't feel really weird."
One of the anticipated moments for this newly-renovated set is Klum’s return to the show. The 47-year-old supermodel had an emergency exit during the show’s audition rounds after she fell ill on set, as reported by Today.
Klum had feared that she might have been infected with COVID-19. She shared that she had a sore throat and fever on March 10. She later tested negative from the deadly virus.
She also shared her experience on Instagram. Aware of how serious the virus is, Klum encouraged people to practice social distancing.

From the usual four-episode of Judge Cuts Rounds, this category will be condensed into one episode. As reported by Talent Recap, at least 60 acts will be judged - some acts will get through the round without performing while others will perform for the judges.
Simon Cowell hopes that the new changes will still make the show popular. Besides, they all need to find a solution to start working again. He said:
"I have sympathy for so many people in this situation, but if our show is an example, there is a light at the end of the tunnel."

As the famous competition draws near, Klum and Vergara seem very excited about their new stage. They recently teased a few photos from the outdoor-themed set, as reported by Good Housekeeping.
Vergara posted on Instagram a photo of herself driving a vintage azure blue convertible car alongside Cowell and Klum. Many fans were thrilled by Vergara's preview.
Meanwhile, Klum also shared a similar look of the show’s wide set. She was with Vergara and Terry Crews sitting on their chairs in a safe distance.
Recently, Cowell and the rest of the judges were stunned by one of the contestants on America’s Got Talent. The contestant, however, refused to reveal his identity before performing.
The contestant from Australia was the last person to perform for the audition. It was one of the most memorable auditions the judges had ever witnessed.
