See How Prince Louis Resembles His Eldest Brother Prince George in His New Unseen Birthday Photo

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a new image of Prince Louis from his birthday, thanking fans of the royal family for their kind wishes on the 2-year-old's special day.

The striking resemblance shared by Prince Louis, 2, and his older brother Prince George, 7, was again brought to the fore when their parents released a previously unseen picture from Louis's birthday in April.

The new picture was shared by a royal fan account on Instagram and was attached to the front of a special "thank you" card Prince William and Kate Middleton sent to well-wishers.

The "thank you" card featured a message from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who were appreciative of the kind thoughts the well-wishers had in writing to their son on his birthday.

The picture attached to the card was similar to the photos that Louis took on his birthday, as he was wearing the same navy blue buttoned shirt. The post was captioned:

"Birthday reply from Prince Louis."

It will be recalled that on Prince Louis' birthday in April, his parents shared pictures of him on their official Instagram page that showed his hands covered in paint.

The photos, which were captioned, "Instagram vs Reality," showed the elated Louis playing with paint, with the second snap showing him rubbing the paint on his cheeks.

William and Kate also sent a portrait postcard with a picture of their daughter Princess Charlotte and a message of appreciation to royal fans for wishing her well on her fifth birthday on May 2.

The message accompanying the postcard was very much similar to that written on Prince Louis's appreciation card. It read:

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appreciated your kind thought in writing to Princess Charlotte as you did on the occasion of her fifth birthday."

Many royal family observers have, for long, spoken about the resemblance shared by Prince George and Prince Louis, and as the latter grows older, it becomes even more apparent.

The brothers share several facial features, including their shy smile, side-swept hairstyles that many find cool, and their famous Cambridge cheeks.

It is not only Prince George that Prince Louis looks like. The 2-year-old royal is also identical in many ways to his mom, Kate Middleton.

The close resemblance between mother and son was shown when the family posed for a group photo in June and was more evident when Louis's look was compared to his mom's childhood photos.
