American actress, producer, and television host, Vivica A. Fox enjoyed a birthday to remember over the weekend as friends and loved ones conspired to treat her to some precious moments.

Fox seemed overwhelmed with the affection of her pals when they showed up at the TV star's doorstep to take her on a surprise adventure. She was blindfolded and taken for a ride to the pre-arranged location, with her friends assuring her arrival at a spectacular time.

To Fox's delight, they kept their promise and upon removing her blindfold, the actress was thrilled to see many of her loved ones waiting for her on a boat, ready to party in her honor.

Fox's friends recorded the entire plot and the actress later shared a slideshow of all the high points with her 1.4 million Instagram followers. She expressed her joy and gratitude to her "LA SQUAD" for the boat ride and thanked other well-wishers, saying:

The wishes definitely ran aplenty for the 56-year-old, with numerous fans expressing their love and adoration for the Indiana native.

Some fans took time to reflect on what they'd seen, claiming that the display was proof that the little things in life like real friends, love, and happiness matter the most.

Fox's 1996 classic, "Set It Off," may be returning to theatres soon.

Fox would likely agree as her slow-but-steady rise to stardom has seen her overcome many obstacles, often with the support of those closest to her.

After initially following her showbiz dreams to California, the actress almost moved back to Indianapolis due to financial constraints.

However, her parents persisted in their belief in their young star and loaned her some money to keep her in California. Her mother suggested that Vivica turn to prayer for guidance which she took to heart by joining a church shortly after.

Fox's big break would eventually come in the form of a supporting role in the action-thriller "Independence Day" where she played the love interest of lead actor Will Smith.

She has since gone on to become an iconic symbol in the movie industry, starring in several classics such as 1996's "Set It Off." Fox is also revered for her impeccable fashion style and drop-dead gorgeous looks.

Speculations about a "Set It Off" comeback were ignited last year when it was announced that Issa Rae was already in the early stages of remaking the movie. However, Fox claims the franchise is better left alone as it would be a tough act to follow.

In the meantime, Fox is basking in all the joy around her which she clearly doesn't mind getting used to. Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, celebrated Fox's 55th birthday last year by throwing her a Gumbo-themed birthday feast. Happy birthday Vivica!
