Sharing an update following Nick’s passing, Kloots said that she found the last couple of weeks “really hard” to cope with, so much so, that she “literally felt like [she] can’t even function.”
As a part of an emotional tribute to her late husband on Saturday, Kloots thanked her in-laws for their support and help, as she said on a video on her Instagram Stories:
“Thank God for my brother and sister-in-law because they’ve rescued me and [1-year-old son] Elvis a lot.”
Kloots recently received Cordero’s ashes, and the experience hit her hard, but at least a friend helped her to see it in a “really nice way.”
“It was beyond surreal and horrible. But they’re in my possession, and a good friend of mine said some beautiful advice: look at it as you have him with you now,” Kloots explained. “Which is really a nice way of looking at it, which is true.”
Cordero, who received a Tony Award nomination for his role in “Bullets over Broadway” back in 2014, also made a lasting friend in co-star Zach Braff while starring in the famed Broadway musical. Recently the actor also shared his tribute to his late friend.
Revealing a tattoo drawing of Cordero dancing in a suit, Braff shared a black-and-white image of the great artwork done by Dr. Woo “in loving memory of the greatest.”
During an episode of his podcast called “Fake Doctors, Real Friends With Zach + Donald,” Braff shared that Cordero sent him one last text message asking for his help before he died.
Before Cordero went unconscious for the last time, Braff asked whether he could do anything for him. In his last text reply, Cordero asked that Braff looks out for Amanda and their 1-year-old son Elvis, something he intends doing for the rest of his life.
Amanda Kloots and Nick Cordero tied the knot in 2017, and even his last social media post was dedicated to thoughts of his wife.
Mere days before Cordero landed in the hospital, he and Kloots celebrated her birthday, and in tribute to the love of his life, Cordero posted a sweet snap of them together while sharing in the caption that he felt grateful for the woman he loves with his whole heart.
