This woman’s logics defeated the government’s bureaucracy and her sarcastic comeback surely left the clerk on the other side of the line speechless.

The day the subject of this joke brought to you by Stars at 60, an elderly woman, celebrated a milestone birthday, she was also called for jury duty, something she knew she wasn’t obliged to do because of her old age.

Around the time she turned 80 years old, the woman went on to call the clerk’s office to explain that due to her age she was exempt from jury duty, which she thought was enough for her to left the subject behind.

However, the clerk told the old woman that she still needed to show up at the office to “come in and fill out the exemption forms.”

“But I filled them out last year,” was the woman’s response to the clerk’s request. “You have to fill them out every year,” the clerk informed the old lady, to which she sarcastically replied:

DEALING WITH THE RASCALS

There is nothing that beats the wisdom that comes with the experience, and old people can easily outsmart anyone, especially young children, like this other joke shows.

The joke’s hero is an old retired man that moves to a quiet home close to a junior high school weeks before the start of a new school year. The next afternoon after classes resumed at the school, trouble started for this elderly gentleman.

As soon as the children left school at the end of the school day, several of them walked down the street where this man was planning to spend his retirement in peace, they started to beat every trash can in their way, making a lot of noise.

After days of tolerating this nuisance, the old man came up with a plan to get rid of these troublesome youngsters for good, using psychology. He approached the group of noisy students and made them a proposition.

“You kids are a lot of fun. I like to see you express your exuberance like that. In fact, I used to do the same thing when I was your age,” the wise old man started off.

“Will you do me a favor?” the man continued, “I’ll give you each a dollar if you’ll promise to come around every day and do your thing.” Making this easy money sounded great for the children, and they went on to make some more noise.

After days of keeping the boys happy by paying them, the old man acted like he was sad about not being able to continue paying them what he offered in the beginning, telling them that he was now only able to pay 50 cents for them to keep beating on the cans.

Although very disappointed, the children agreed to continue doing what the man asked for half the money, but a few days later the man cut them shorter by offering only 25 cents for the “trouble.”

“A lousy 25 cents?” the gang leader exclaimed. “If you think we’re going to waste our time, beating these cans around for 25 cents, you’re nuts! No way, mister. We quit!” the angry boy replied, and from that day on, they never bother the old man again.

And if you are in need of another laugh to brighten your day, here is another joke about a woman that opens the door to a man that offers to make it up to her for having run over her pet with his car.
