The proud father ended the caption with a prayer and a fatherly declaration of love for his son. Fans took to the comments section to join him in wishing Avery a special day while offering prayers of their own.

"Happy Birthday, young man, and may God continue to bless and protect you!"

Andre is the product of Magic's relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Melissa Mitchell. The pair welcomed Andre in 1981, and once they split, he lived with his mother out of the public eye.

In 2016, he joined his father on a trip to Hawaii, and pictures from the day went viral. Andre and his Magic had been captured on the beach shirtless, and though Magic looked great at 56, it was Andre who caught people's attention.

Aside from Andre, Magic also has two other kids, one of which is adopted. He shares them both with his wife, Cookie Johnson. The pair had been expecting their first child, Earvin Johnson III when Magic discovered he was HIV positive.

It was a rough time for Cookie who was just about two months into the marriage. Thankfully their child arrived free from the virus, and the pair remained happily married.

However, not wanting to risk giving birth to an infected child, Magic's third child with Cookie, Elisa was adopted in 1995.

Magic and Cookie tied the knot in September 1991 at a small ceremony that took place in Lansing, Michigan, the NBA legend's hometown.

Cookie detailed all that happened in their 14-year courtship and 25 years of married life in her book, "Believing in Magic."
