Debbie Allen Shares a Sweet Pic with Her Granddaughter Ahead of Grandparents Day
Iconic actress and dancer Debbie Allen uploaded a lovely picture of herself and her granddaughter on her Instagram while expressing her excitement for Grandparents' Day coming up on September 13.
Grandparents' Day is just around the corner and legendary actress and dancer Debbie Allen is already making plans with her grandbaby in advance.
The famous actress uploaded a heartwarming outdoor picture which had Allen dressed in a white and pink ensemble, gushing over her granddaughter.

The picture also featured Allen's mom, Vivian, carrying her great-granddaughter in her arms while the actress doted over the little princess in a lovely pink and white sundress and mini sunshades. The iconic choreographer captioned her post:
“Did you know that Grandparent’s Day is coming up on Sunday 9/13? I’m not going to let pain get in the way of celebrating with my granddaughter.”
The dancer also urged viewers to share pictures of their grand loved ones to celebrate Grandparents' Day.
Allen's only daughter Vivian Nixon welcomed her first child, Shiloh Elizabeth Williams, in February last year. The first-time grandma expressed her joy, saying the day her granddaughter was born was "one of the best days of her life," and that it was an incredibly intense and exciting day for her.

The "Grey's Anatomy" star has spoken about the joy of motherhood in the past. But following the birth of her grandchild, she revealed that she likes being a grandmother too, saying that she couldn't wait to get back to her grandbaby while also referring to the child as "everything."
The "A Different World" alum is happily married to former NBA player, Norm Nixon. The happy couple celebrated 36 years of marriage on April 27,and Allen uploaded a series of lovely videos and pictures of herself and her man to mark the big day. The accompanying caption read:
“Happy Anniversary to the love of my life, Norm. So thankful to have you as my forever dance partner. 36 years and counting, baby!”
The talented 70-year-old icon started dancing at age 3 and by age 5, her parents, Pulitzer-winning poet, Vivian Ayers, and dentist Arthur Allen, enrolled her in dance school.
Allen's performance in "West Side Story" earned her a "Tony Award" nomination in 1980, and over the years, she has also received numerous honors which include a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She is also a recipient of the American Women in Radio and Television Lifetime Achievement Award and an honorary doctorate from the North Carolina School of the Arts.
