Once giving updates on Steve's health, Austin made it known that her family was falling apart. She added that her dad had pneumonia in both lungs and required the immediate use of a ventilator. The 41-year-old said that it was sad that she could not be with him.

Another time she made headlines was when she revealed that she was still breastfeeding her four-year-old daughter. Although she was criticized, the model explained that breastfeeding Chanel at that age had to do with comfort.
