'The Crown' Actress Emma Corrin Looks like Princess Diana's Twin in a Similar Wedding Dress
The first glimpse of Princess Diana’s wedding dress teased the upcoming season of “The Crown,” and Emma Corrin, who portrays the legendary princess, admitted to its impact, as it made everyone go “completely silent” on set while filming.
A tantalizing first peek at the upcoming season 4 of “The Crown” showed Emma Corrin dressed in a wedding gown as the series teased Princess Diana’s royal wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.
The Netflix series became a hit during it’s first three seasons, which followed the lives of the British Royals, detailing the events that lead to Queen Elizabeth II becoming the reigning monarch at a young age.
A STUNNING REPLICA DRESS
However, the 24-year-old actress stunned in the picture taken ahead of the show’s fourth season, bearing a striking resemblance to the late and beloved Princess Diana.
“A first glimpse of Princess Diana’s wedding dress,” the caption read. “Emmy award-winning costume designer Amy Roberts wanted to capture the same spirit and style of David & Elizabeth Emanuel’s original design, without creating a replica for Emma Corrin.”

CHANNELING HER INNER PRINCESS DIANA
For the October edition of British Vogue, Corrin said that her entrance wearing the replica gown for the filming of the royal wedding had the same effect Princess Diana so often had, and elaborated:
“I walked out and everyone went completely silent. More than anything else I wear in the series, it’s so … It’s her.”
THE FOCUS OF SEASON 4
Season 4 of “The Crown,” starting on November 14, centers around Prince Charles and his experience of life in early adulthood. Princess Diana was only 20 when she wed Prince Charles, and then, of course, it also delves deeper into his feelings for Camilla Parker Bowles.
The much-anticipated royal wedding between Prince Charles and Princess Diana had millions of people line up en route to St. Paul’s Cathedral, hoping to catch a glimpse of her.
When the procession got to the Cathedral on July 29,1981, it took Princess Diana a further three-and-a-half-minutes to walk herself and her 25-foot train down the aisle.
Netflix released "The Crown" new season's official trailer in August, and the video trailer got fans excited with various shots of the People's Princess, as brief as they might have been.
However, a few pictures and one breathtaking look back into history with Princess Diana walking down the aisle alludes to a memorable upcoming season of the popular series.
