Rex Linn Is Reba McEntire's New Boyfriend — Quick Facts about the 'CSI: Miami' Actor

Reba McEntire has a new man in her life, and the couple got closer during quarantine since they share points of interest. Let’s have a closer look at Rex Linn, the country singer’s new love interest.

The legendary country singer shared that she started dating someone new during a new episode of her podcast, “Living & Learning.” Moreover, they managed to keep their relationship quiet since the couple started dating after having dinner together in January.

But now McEntire happily spoke about the last couple of months she got to know the actor Rex Linn. Due to social distancing amid the pandemic, Linn and McEntire started texting and video calling after meeting.

IT’S A GOOD FOOT TO START ON

McEntire found the remote communication helpful because she considers it an excellent way to get to know someone, and in the process, found commonality in many things.

“He’s very into my music, I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny and very smart, and is interested in me too,” McEntire gushed during the podcast.

WHEN IT COMES TO LINN’S WORK ...

He is best known for his role as Frank Tripp on “CSI: Miami.” He filled Tripp’s shoes from 2002 until 2012, and Linn went on to star in various other productions, including “The Drone,” released last year.

While Linn’s credited acting career began in 1991, he found his big break as the bad guy in “Cliffhanger” two years later. Roles in more blockbusters followed, including “Breakdown” in 1997 and “Blast from the Past” in 1999.

THE TEXAS CONNECTION

One of Linn’s more recent roles is as the principal of the school attended by Sheldon Cooper and his siblings in “Young Sheldon.”

Sheldon Cooper grew up to be the annoyingly genial scientist in the long-running comedy “The Big Bang Theory” - and he was born and bred in Texas. McEntire guest-starred on “Young Sheldon” earlier this year.

Linn is also a country boy from Texas. Born in Spearman, Linn’s family moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, when he was a teenager, so his father, James Paul Linn, could practice law.

HE GOT INTO ACTING LATER ON

Linn’s work history began early on in his life. While attending the independent college-preparatory academy called Casady School in Oklahoma City, Linn worked for the zoo as a part-time employee.

In 1980 Linn graduated with a B.A. degree in Radio, Television, and Film from Oklahoma State University and went into finance, working as the vice president of energy lending for Lakeshore Bank by the time he left in 1982.

MCENTIRE’S RECENT ROMANCE HISTORY

Reba McEntire’s two-year relationship with her previous boyfriend, Skeeter Lasuzzo, ended before Christmas last year, and it followed on the heels of her split from her longtime ex-husband Narvel Blackstock.

Blackstock was more than McEntire’s husband for more than two and a half decades, he was also her manager. So when they split in 2015, the singer felt like she had been left alone in all areas of her life to pick up the shattered pieces, and she did.
