Meghan Markle’s experience as a part of the Royal Family was not exactly the most pleasant, mainly because of trolls and negative press coverage. In a recent interview, she gave her thoughts on how the ordeal affected her.

Over the weekend, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were guests on an episode of the "Teenage Therapy" podcast. The couple spoke on several topics, ranging from political issues to mental health.

One of the most striking aspects of the interview came when Meghan reacted to officially being the most trolled person in the world last year. The discussion came as the podcast episode addressed social media and how its toxicity can affect people.

Meghan pointed out that while social media can help connect people, it can also damage mental health. On being the most trolled person in the world last year, Meghan explained that it was a genuinely stressful thing to find out. She said in part:

“I don’t care if you’re 15 or you’re 25, if people are saying things about you that aren’t true, what that does to your mental and emotional health is so damaging.”

The Duchess added that the trolling news mainly affected her because she was nursing her son, Archie, when she found out about it. Instead of relaxing and taking time out to enjoy herself with her son, she soon found herself worrying about what people were saying.

Many now believe that this wave of trolls played a role in the couple’s exit from the Royal Family.

Although there does not seem to have been any official record of her being the most trolled person, it is no secret that Meghan had to deal with a lot in 2019. There was constant negative press surrounding her.

Many people made it seem like they were angry at her for joining into the British Royal Family. It got so bad that Prince Harry had to warn news media and tabloids not to air defamatory stories about Meghan. Even at that, the fake reports kept on coming.

Many now believe that this wave of trolls played a role in the couple’s exit from the Royal Family. The process, which began in January, has been one of the couple’s watershed moments.

Harry and Meghan shocked the world when they announced that they would be stepping back from their roles as senior Royal Family members. Since then, they have left the United Kingdom.

After moving between residences, they have settled in a Santa Barbara, California home. The couple is living happily with their son, Archie, and freely lend their voices to causes they believe in.
