Closer Weekly: DWTS Pros Jenna Johnson & Val Chmerkovskiy Reveal Their Goal to Have Kids

"Dancing With The Stars" pro dancers Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy opened up about their relationship goals, and their plans to become parents.

Dancing keeps Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy on their toes, but since their April 2019 wedding, the "Dancing With The Stars" pros have been dreaming about the patter of little feet.

The couple opened up to Closer Weekly about their relationship, and the dream they share of becoming parents, something they started discussing long before they married.

LOVING DANCE PARTNERS

According to Val, family is very important to them both, and having their own family is high on their priority list. The couple has not revealed when they plan on starting their family, which will surely impact Jenna's career, at least temporarily.

They have plenty of time. Jenna is just 26, and Val is 34, and in the meantime, they are getting used to married life and facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic which is forcing them to live apart.

LIVING APART

In order to protect themselves and their dance partners, Val and Jenna are living apart since the new season of "DWTS" went into production. The couple confesses that it hasn't been easy.

Val revealed that he showers Jenna with poetry, sweet messages, and thoughtful gifts through Amazon, and the two make up for the distance by spending a lot of time together on Facetime.

In 2018, Val took things to the next level, and proposed to Jenna during a romantic getaway to Venice

Reflecting on the sacrifice he and Jenna are making in their personal lives in order to continue with their work through the world-wide health crisis, Val confided:

“There are challenges, but hopefully we can bring some joy to folks at home during this crazy time. The world needs Dancing With the Stars right now!”

A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

Jenna and Val met in 2014 when she joined the cast of "DWTS." The two dancers became friends, but within a year they discovered that they were falling in love. Val revealed:

“I knew Jenna was the one when I saw how close she is with her family and how she interacts with her nieces and nephews. Family is everything to me and I can’t wait for us to build one together.”

But the course of true love didn't run smoothly, and the two ended up splitting up in 2016, only to get back together a year later. In 2018, Val took things to the next level, and proposed to Jenna during a romantic getaway to Venice.

Val and Jenna sealed the deal with a romantic wedding in Rancho Palos Verdes in California, surrounded by their families, and their friends. It has now been over a year, and fans of the couple are eager to hear the news that they are expecting their first baby.
