In a recent interview with E's Daily Pop, journalist and author Hoda Kotb gave updates about her forthcoming wedding. She revealed that she and her fiance, Joel Schiffman, were contemplating a small event.

In the clip, which touched on many other topics, Kotb was told to give details on the much-anticipated wedding. She was asked when she and Schiffman planned to finally walk down the aisle after all the postponement.

On hearing the question, the journalist revealed they earlier planned to wed in a month's time at a tropical destination. Due to the pandemic, they were concerned about their guests' safety and convenience, so they just might have a small wedding.

Kotb then added that she loved the sunshine and summer feel, so they might just push the wedding till the summer to have it on the East Coast, but if things got better, they might "strikeout to some warm tropical place to say 'I do'"

Shortly after the interview was taped, the 54-year-old announced that she and Schiffman had made plans to adopt their third child. The pair previously adopted two daughters, 3-year-old Haley Joy and 1-year-old Hope Catherine.

Kotb, however, revealed that she had a hard time balancing work and parenting during the quarantine. She explained that she was trying to work on her patience and learn how to use wisdom when needed.

The love birds are, however, not the only celebrity couple who have had to have their weddings pushed forward due to the pandemic.

In other news, during a segment on her TV show, "Today with Hoda & Jenna," the star disclosed that her mother was going to pick out her wedding dress as she had done so during her last wedding.

The news came as a shock to her co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, who then asked her if she had even tried on the dress. Kotb replied that she did, and her mother had been right about her size as usual.

Schiffman and Kotb have been together for more than seven years, and earlier this year, she revealed that they already felt married. She added that she was so happy to say "I do" and to do it whenever they needed to since it was just a formality.

The star also admitted that despite the wedding postponement, the pandemic provided a silver lining as she was able to spend more time with her children and get to know them better.

The love birds are, however, not the only celebrity couple who have had to have their weddings pushed forward due to the pandemic. American singer Katy Perry and her fiance actor Orlando Bloom are among the list.

Taraji P. Henson and her fiancé, Kelvin Hayden, also had to have their wedding postponed. The pair first moved it up from April to June to avoid the rainy weather but eventually pushed it further due to the quarantine.
