Months after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the closure of their official Sussex Royal Instagram account, they launched their official website, Archewell.

In January 2020, the couple revealed their intention to step back as senior members of the Royal Family and become financially independent. Such news took many people by surprise, especially because it was unclear what they would do to achieve that.

Over the following months, more information about their decision was revealed, including that Meghan and Harry would not be able to use neither their HRH titles nor the word “royal” in their marketing activities.

CLOSING @SUSSEXROYAL

Later, on March 30, the couple announced the closure of their Instagram account, @SussexRoyal. In their final post, they addressed the coronavirus situation and urged followers to take care of themselves and one another.

Meghan and Harry also thanked their online “community” for supporting and inspiring them and pointed out that they had plans to reconnect with them.

Finally, over six months after closing their Instagram account, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle launched their new website for their Archewell organization.

Archewell.com, the landing page for the couple’s non-profit foundation, went live on October 20, and so far, there’s not much information available on it.

At the moment, it only shows the dictionary definitions of the words they used to create the name of the foundation: Arche, a Greek word that means “source of action;” and Well, “a plentiful source or supply” or “a place we go to dig deep.”

Apart from that, the website includes a text box for visitors to add their email addresses and “join” Meghan and Harry in their future activities with the organization.

The final bits of information available on Archewell’s landing page are the Beverly Hills, California postal address, and their email address for contact.

It is important to point out that Meghan, Harry, and their son Archie have been living in California since March 2020, and they filed paperwork to register their organization that same month.

Also in mid-October, the couple made headlines after releasing their first portrait after stepping back as senior members of the Royals. The black-and-white picture was part of their appearance at Time100 Talks, a series of virtual conversations with people from all over the world.

Meghan and Harry hosted the “Engineering a Better World” event on October 20, in which Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian was one of the interviewees.
