How 'Wheel of Fortune' Hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White Remembered Late Alex Trebek
Alex Trebek sadly passed away over the weekend at the age of 80 from cancer. Since the announcement of his death, several celebrities including fellow show hosts have paid tribute to him.
Alex Trebek died on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at the age of 80 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. The game show that Trebek had been hosting for five decades, “Jeopardy!” confirmed the news of his death via Twitter.
The game show revealed how the late star had passed away early on Sunday morning. “Jeopardy!” shared how the television show host had died peacefully at his home while surrounded by his friends and family.

The series concluded its statement by thanking Trebek. The first time that the legendary host confessed his diagnosis was in March 2019, at the time, the star revealed on the show that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Since his passing, fellow television show hosts like Pat Sajak, from “Wheel of Fortune,” have paid their condolences. Taking to Twitter, Sajak mourned Trebek’s death writing:
“Alex Trebek’s courage, grace and strength inspired millions and awed those of us who knew him.”
Sajak, who wanted to be voted as “People” magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, noted what a tremendous loss it had been for Trebek’s fans, friends, family, and co-workers. He shared how honored he was to be the late star’s friend and a part of his professional family throughout the years.
He concluded his post noting what a sad day it was. Sajak’s letter-turner and co-host on “Wheel of Fortune,” Vanna White also paid tribute to Trebek via a heartfelt Instagram post and on Twitter.
Sharing three images of herself with Trebek, including two throwback photos, White mourned the loss of the late star. She noted how she would cherish all the memories she shared with the late television show host.
White revealed how she’d known the star long before their careers had taken off. The television personality shared how she’d always be in awe of how Trebek faced his diagnosis and fought valiantly.
White confessed how devastated she was to have lost her longtime friend. She noted how there would never be another person like Trebek and admitted that she missed him, adding:
“My heart is with his family, friends, co-workers and fans.”
Last December, White gave fans an update on Trebek’s health via “Us Weekly.” She revealed, at the time, that the television show host was doing well and looking good too as he battled his diagnosis.
