Social media has become a hub for people to interact with others and share even unpleasant experiences searching for other opinions and suggestions.

One Reddit user took to the platform to narrate an experience with an elderly neighbor in her late seventies. Before this time, the duo has seemingly enjoyed a good relationship.

Their relationship was such that this user took on doing her groceries, gardening, and other tasks even though her family is just 25 minutes away. Things went sour between the two neighbors after the older woman had some family members over for some fireworks display.

According to the user, about 15 family members gathered for the fireworks display, which broke the lockdown rules. The lockdown violation was not a concern for this Reddit user but its effect on his pets.

The Reddit user's grudge came from the fact that the elderly neighbor did not inform him of the fireworks even though she was aware of his cats and their fear of fire.

The fireworks lasted for about fifteen to twenty minutes, which left the cats more terrified. Both cats ran out of the house, and only one has returned so far, leaving the user enraged.

Offended, this user shouted over the fence at the older woman, unleashing his anger at her for not informing him of the fireworks. He felt betrayed by her actions.

The older woman's daughter leaped to the defense of her mother and was berated by this user, who reminded her that she had no say in the matter because she was never there for her mother when she needed her.

Since the incident, both neighbors have not been on speaking terms. The complaining Reddit user has made up his mind not to be of further help to his elderly neighbor.

Explaining why he had to shout over the fence, the user revealed that he had held conversations about how scared animals are of fireworks. Other users left their opinion on the matter and gave him tips on how to get his cat back home.

One user told him that he was right for not wanting to help anymore, while another added that his neighbor did not act kindly. One user advised him to leave a blanket outside to help guide his missing cat home.
