Ree Drummond Recalls Dealing with Conflict between Her Foster Son Jamar & Biological Son Bryce

Culinary expert Ree Drummond opened up about her bonus kid, Jamar, in her latest book, "Frontier Follies," where she mentioned that she once sorted a rift between her birth son and her foster son.

American blogger Ree Drummond has quite some talent, which she has been showing off for a while, but what fans did not know was that the media personality welcomed a foster son into her family.

In an excerpt from her latest book, "Frontier Follies," Ree opened up about her family and how her foster son, Jamar, became part of them. She noted that initially, she chose to keep him away from public scrutiny, partly due to the foster home's policy.

However, now that Jamar was 18-years-old, the foster home's policy was due, and the youngster did not want to feel like he had been hidden.

The star mom wrote about the first time he came into her household, their first conversation, and how the teenager blended in pretty quickly.

The "The Pioneer Woman" star recalled one of the phenomenal moments, Jamar and her other son, Bryce, experienced sibling rivalry. Ree noted that she and her husband, Ladd Drummond, made sure not to take sides and would often have the boys shake hands.

She shared: "It can be tricky, because we're mindful not to make Bryce feel like his whole life at home has changed, but we're also mindful not to default to taking Bryce's side over Jamar's…"

Bryce and Jamar are two of four kids that Ree and Ladd share. Their other children are Paige and Alex. Ree, a food writer, noted that she and her spouse had never had thoughts of having a foster kid, but they were drawn to Jamar.

While she works on Food Network's "The Pioneer Woman," she stays up to date with her blog and also manages her hotel.

While Jamar and Bryce are in the same age bracket, Paige is 20, while Alex is 23 and soon to be married. In one of their mom's Instagram show-offs, she proudly informed fans that her oldest daughter would soon be walking down the aisle.

The post also had her gushing over 20-year-old Paige, who seemed to be getting "wedding fever" in her mom's 1996 wedding dress. The images showed Paige rocking present-day glam with the vintage wedding ensemble.

Ree is a TV star with several works to her name. While she works on Food Network's "The Pioneer Woman, she stays up to date with her blog and also manages her hotel.

Above all this, she is a family woman who resides on a ranch with her family in Oklahoma. While work takes much of her time, Ree makes sure to always be there for her brood.
