See Ron Howard's Rare Throwback Pic to Mark What Would Have Been His Dad Rance's 92nd Birthday

Ron Howard recently shared an old picture of his father, legendary actor Rance Howard. The doting son shared the image to celebrate what would have been his dad's 92nd birthday.

Legendary actor Rance Howard would have been 92 on November 17. While many might have forgotten, the special day did not go uncelebrated by Rance's family.

Taking to Instagram, the late actor's son, filmmaker Ron Howard shared a never before seen throwback picture of his dad. In the image, Rance was pictured wearing a large cowboy hat.

The black and white picture saw Rance sporting full beards as he looked away from the camera while striking a pose. Ron accompanied the snapshot with a caption that read:

"My dad, Rance Howard, would've been 92 today. Man, do we miss him a lot."

Ron's sweet post to his father was met with love from fans and followers who took to the comments section to pay tributes to the late iconic actor.

While some followers wished Rance a happy posthumous birthday, others recounted their favorite memories of the late actor. Many more pointed out the striking resemblance between father and son.

They maintain a private life and have managed to stay away from the public eye.

Rance is best known for appearing in the 2001 movie, "A Beautiful Mind." He suddenly passed away on November 25, 2017, at the age of 89.

Before Rance's death, the legendary actor shared a great bond with Ron, who gave his father roles in many of his movies, including "A Beautiful Mind," which bagged an Oscar.

Rance's posthumous birthday comes only a few weeks after Ron and his wife, Cheryl, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their first date. Taking to Instagram, Ron shared a picture of their gifts to each other and accompanied it with a caption recounting the first time they went out on November 1, 1970.

The couple met in high school, and on June 7, 1975, they tied the knot after dating for five years. Together, Cheryl and Ron are parents to four children, daughter Bryce Dallas Howard, twins Jocelyn Carlyle and Paige Howard, and son Reed Cross.

Just like her father and grandfather, the couple's oldest daughter Bryce is in the movie industry and has appeared in big movies like "Spider-Man 3", "Terminator Salvation" and "The Help."

Another of Ron's kids, Paige, also has an interest in the movie industry. Over the years, she has appeared in television series such as "90210" and "Medium."

Unlike their two siblings, Jocelyn and Reed are not in the entertainment industry. They maintain a private life and have managed to stay away from the public eye.

While some are walking in his footsteps and some are not, there is no doubt that Ron's children all make him proud, just like he made his legendary dad proud.
