Over the weekend, actor Michael J. Fox spoke in an interview with Sunday TODAY about his life amid a battle with Parkinson's Disease. The "Back to the Future" actor used the interview to promote his book, "No Time Like the Future."

Fox got his Parkinson's diagnosis in 1991. At the time, he and his wife, Tracy Pollan, had only been married for three years. The actor explained that the diagnosis was a turning point in their marriage.

As Fox recalled, Pollan was with him at the doctor's office when the diagnosis came back. The actor highlighted that Pollan did not blink once, even when the reality of the situation set in.

He explained that they did not know what to expect at the time as they knew little about Parkinson's. However, Pollan remained unwavering in her support, and she has been that way since. He added:

The actor explained that having a partner through the ordeal has been the best thing, and that Pollan had proven to be the best partner he could have. Fox has also explained that he has adopted a life of optimism amid the entire ordeal. As he pointed out, optimism is a choice, and it has worked so far.

The actor added that Pollan had been everything he wanted in a partner.

Fox's Parkinson's diagnosis is no news. The actor has been living with the disease for 29 years, and he has been a voice for lending awareness to it. As he has pointed out in the past, living with the disease has some challenging parts. However, he has also been vocal about Pollan and her role in his life. Speaking with ET last week, Fox said:

"She puts up with me. She doesn't cut me any slack, which is great. She's honest, affectionate, kind, smart and she's just there in a pinch. She's beautiful and I love her."

The actor added that Pollan had been everything he wanted in a partner. As he explained, she is a great cook, a wonderful mother to their kids, and an altogether great wife.

Fox also told ET that he appreciated the time that the pandemic had granted him and his family to be together. He explained that all of them were together throughout the lockdown and quarantine periods.

All they did was enjoy each other's company, play games, and bond. While Fox is not thinking about death just yet, he appears to be living his life to the fullest. With a supportive wife, it hardly gets better than this.
