To say "Dancing With the Stars" fans are unhappy with Monday's season finale would be a vast understatement. After the show ended, "DWTS" congratulated the winners, Kaitlyn Bristowe, and her pro partner, Artem Chigvintsev, on Instagram. They wrote:

"Our new champs!!! Congratulations to #TeamWillYouAcceptThisDance! ? #DWTSFinale #DWTS #Finale."

The congratulatory post included photos of Chigvintsev and Bristowe on the night of the season finale. They both stood side by side, happily holding onto their mirrorball trophy.

Although Bristowe and Chigvintsev were undoubtedly happy beyond belief about their win, many people accused the show of having picked the wrong winners.

In less than six hours, the Instagram post had garnered over eight thousand comments from viewers; some good, some not so good. Many joined in congratulating the season's winners, while most of the comments disagreed with the results.

Many viewers revealed that they felt contestant Nev Schulman and his partner, Jenna Johnson, should have emerged winners. There was a lot of disappointment in these comments.

Both contesting couples, Schulman and Johnson and Bristowe and Chigvintsev, whom fans seemed to be at war over, have had it rough all season.

After 11 weeks of slugging it out in the ballroom, practicing seven days a week, and possibly sustaining some rather memorable injuries along the way, a great number of avid viewers were sure that Schulman would come out on top.

However, the palpable disappointment and disagreement with the results were hard to ignore. Among the many comments was one from an Instagram user who adamantly said:

This Instagram user was not the only one who felt like this. Both contesting couples, Schulman and Johnson with Bristowe and

, whom fans seemed to be at war over, have had it rough all season.

Not only did Bristowe suffer an ankle injury, but Schulman also battled COVID-19 earlier in the year. Schulman and his wife, Laura Perlongo, had COVID-19 in March, and back then, there was little to no information about the disease, making things a whole lot scarier.

Ahead of the season finale, Schulman opened up to ET about his time with COVID-19 and if it had any effects on his DWTS performance. He said that he had only made a full recovery of cardio abilities early in the summer and was thankfully able to give his all.

He also shared that he experienced a condition referred to as "COVID toes." People who tested positive for the novel coronavirus got swollen and discolored toes as a telltale sign of infection.

As for how his family dealt with his grueling "DWTS" hours and schedule, the TV host revealed that he and Perlongo had to work out a schedule to keep the family up and running until he could finally come back home. While fans fight for their belief that he should have won, Schulman is just happy to reunite with his wife and kids after so long.
