If you don’t live alone, you probably know how hard it is to hide candy from the people you live with. Things get even more challenging if you share your home with your children.

Fortunately, a mom found a creative way to hide candy (chocolate, specifically), and she shared it in a Facebook group so that other people could keep their sweet treats away from uninvited hungry people.

The smart mother is Jenny Hourd, and she disclosed her “number 1 parenting tip” on the Family Lockdown Tips & and Ideas Facebook group.

EGG CARTON

To do so, she uploaded a couple of photos. The first one showed a standard, innocent-looking, closed egg carton that had nothing particularly extraordinary about it.

Well, that’s precisely the reason why this hideout works so well because the second image showed the same egg carton but, instead of holding eggs in it, there were two chocolate bars!

It’s the true definition of hiding in plain sight, and the members of the Facebook group know it, which is probably why the post had almost 7,000 reactions at the time of writing.

Other people took to the comment section to suggest different places where candy can be hidden, including the washing machine, empty dishwasher tablet boxes, and even tampon boxes.

It’s all about keeping your sweets safe!

MORE HIDING SPOTS

Hourd is not the only clever mom who has found ways to hide food from their kids. Another woman went viral in October 2019 after sharing pictures of her “genius” stashing trick.

In her case, she opted for a bag of frozen vegetables. In the first image, the bag was held closed with a metal clothespin. However, the second one showed the bag open filled with sweet treats.

Apparently, finding places to hide candy is common, as there is even a question on Quora about it. One of the netizens pointed out that, against all odds, high places are not necessarily the safest places.

They added that one of their relatives usually hides his chocolate bars behind books or under the sink (wrapped in plastic bags or in a flat plastic box).

Another person shared a hiding spot for smokers: the cigarette carton. Simply put the cigarettes in a different place and hide the chocolate bars in the carton.

A different Quora user even suggested to hide them in a drawer with a false bottom, and although it might be a bit of an exaggeration, it’s all about keeping your sweets safe!
