The Tony-nominated actress shared with Boardway that her first expression as an artist was through music, a fact that many people do not know about her.
Her mother knew from a young age that her daughter would follow in her entertainment footsteps, and said this about Condola as a child after seeing Alvin Alley,
"We went backstage, and she looked up at me and said, 'When is it going to be my turn?'"
Phylicia shared that her daughter had asked for a piano teacher, reading teacher, and a dancing teacher at the age of 4 so it is no wonder Condola has been so successful as both a singer and actress.
She has been nominated for 4 Tony awards for the Broadshows she has been in, including “A Doll’s House, part 2” and “Saint Joan.” She is currently apart of Showtimes' "Billions."
Condola expressed that she had to choose between her acting career and singer career, first focusing on her acting, she is now shifting her focus to her music.
Her Instagram account features many posts about her life and music career. Her most recent post is a stunning close-up of the singer’s face and shoulders, in a bare-shouldered blouse.
Condola expressed that she had to choose between her acting career and singer career, first focusing on her acting, she is now shifting her focus to her music,
“ Then, once the time is right, I will come out the gate with my music."
In 2018, Condola started working on her EP “Space Daughter,” explaining that the name had come to her before she had created the music and knew what the album would be about.
She stressed to Broadway that because of her vision for the album she knew she would have to undertake the creation of it independently as no record label would understand her.
Condola had initially wanted to spend the year working on the fifth season of Showtime's “Billions,” where she stars as Kate Sacker. The Tv show started production in 2016.
However, due to the restrictions of the pandemic, production had to be halted and she has been able to focus on her music. “Blue,” “Give Up the Gold,” and “Running In Place” are a few of her songs.
