J Lo Gushes over Her Career as She Is Set to Accept Billboard's 'Women in Music Icon' Award
Following the announcement that she will be honored by Billboard with the "Women in Music Icon" Award, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez gushed about the incredible recognition.
It has been a wonderful year for Jennifer Lopez — a dancer, singer, businesswoman, mother, and more. Her career has also struck several highlights this year.
The singer, whose new song, "In The Morning," has become a favorite hit for many, (for both its content and its racy cover,) has yet another thing to be excited about.

Most recently, she was set to be honored by Billboard for the "Women in Music Icon" Award. In a recent "TODAY" interview, Lopez gushed:
"Music, because I started as a dancer, is my first love. To be able to be recognized after so many years in the business...is just such an honor."
Lopez, who looked stunning in a gorgeous blue outfit and a black beret, appeared on the show as a surprise to her good friend, host Hoda Kotb.
Right in the middle of the Pop Start segment's entertainment rundown, she popped in through a virtual visit, leaving Kotb surprised.
Everyone was in on the plan except Kotb. The show co-host acknowledged that her singer friend must be very busy as she prepares to accept her monumental award.
Lopez agreed, adding that on top of that, she also had to make time to prepare for Christmas with her family. She said that was one of the things she was most excited about.
The singer is happy to prepare with her twins, Emme and Maximilian, her partner, Alex Rodriguez, and his daughters, Natasha, and Ella. The year is certainly shaping up to be a wholesome one for the superstar.
Lopez would not be alone as she accepts her awards because she is going to be among a league of great women receiving awards.
Billboard decided to honor Lopez with this year's prestigious Icon Award to impact the music industry and the greater artistic community. She would join former iconic recipients like rap icon Mary J Blige, Shania Twain, and the Legendary Aretha Franklin.
Lopez is going to be among a league of great women. Alongside Lopez, rapper Cardi B will be honored as the Billboard Woman of the Year. Dua Lipa will also get the Powerhouse Award following the success of her doggone Album, "Future Nostalgia."
Music duo Chloe x Halle will also go home with the Rising Star Award Presented by Honda, while Jessie Reyez will be honored with the American Express Impact Award.
It is clear to see that Lopez would be surrounded by great women who have all done incredibly well at making an impact. Although exciting, this would not be her first rodeo with Billboard awards.
Having been in the industry for over two decades, she has had the chance to snag many, many awards. In 2014, she was awarded the 2014 Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards on May 18, 2014.
This is not the beginning for Lopez, but at the rate she is going, she most certainly does not plan to take her foot off the gas anytime soon!
