Ahead of the first part of “The Voice” finale, Blake Shelton was interviewed on Bobby Jones’ radio show. During their conversation, the country singer opened up about his proposal to his girlfriend.
As most Blake Shelton, 44, fans know the country musician recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, 51. Ahead of “The Voice” finale, Bobby Jones interviewed him on his radio show.
The “Bobby Bones Show” host started off by congratulating the musician on his engagement. He then asked Shelton if he had been nervous about what he was going to say to Stefani during the proposal.

The radio show host questioned if “The Voice” coach had planned what he was going to say. Shelton revealed that the only thing he had really planned was that he knew he wanted it to happen in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
The country musician planned to do it while Stefani’s children and the pop singer’s brother were at the ranch. Also included in the proposal were Stefani’s brother’s family and Shelton’s sister and her family.
The star explained how he and Stefani’s extended family members had sort of started a holiday tradition where they would always come together. So he knew he wanted them at the proposal.
His aim was also to make sure the children were there as he didn’t want to do it without them. Stefani is a parent to three boys Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6, whom she shares with ex Gavin Rossdale.
Shelton also confessed that he had the engagement ring with him for around two-and-a-half weeks. The star revealed the “scariest” part about having the ring for so long, stating:
"I had the ring in the compartment on my door of my truck for about a week."
He admitted that he’d risked putting the ring there even though he knew things would fall out all the time. While he was looking for a flashlight he considered how lucky someone else would be if it fell out and they found it.
While at the recent People’s Choice Awards, Stefani gave fans a glimpse of her engagement ring.
Shelton kept the ring in the compartment because he wasn’t sure when he would propose and wanted to have it on standby. He ended up proposing on October 27, 2020, on the ranch.
While at the recent People’s Choice Awards, Stefani gave fans a glimpse of her engagement ring. At the time, the “Hollaback Girl” singer was at the event to support her fiancé who was nominated.
On December 2, 2020, she visited Hallmark Channel's "Home & Family" at Universal Studios in Hollywood. There she gave a clearer view of her six to eight-carat diamond engagement ring.
