Fantasia Had an Affair with Antwaun Cook While He Was Still Married & They Had a Son — Meet Him

Singer Fantasia Barrino, the winner of "American Idol" season three, was romantically involved with Antwaun Cook. He was married at the time, and their affair was all over the internet.

Fantasia and Antwaun, an East Carolina University businessman from Charlotte, North Carolina, who “doesn’t rap or produce” and was “just a regular dude,” started dating in 2009.

The only problem was that he was married with two children at the time. Shortly after Antwaun and Fantasia’s affair was discovered by his wife, Paula, she filed for divorce and was willing to take it all.

TAKING MATTERS TO COURT

Apart from requesting the custody of the kids, Paula got the singer involved in a legal battle under the alienation of affection law, which, at the moment, was permitted in North Carolina and a few other states.

The alienation of affection law makes it possible for an abandoned spouse to sue the person responsible for the failed marriage. In this case, Paula claimed that Fantasia was the one to blame.

Antwaun requested people to stop blaming Fantasia.

Antwaun and the singer reportedly started seeing each other in 2009, and Paula claimed that she and her husband only began living separately on June 16, 2010.

Paula added that Antwaun and Fantasia went to bars, restaurants, and nightclubs during their romance, so she appeared to have enough proof to get money from the “American Idol” winner.

However, Fantasia defended herself by saying that she didn’t break the marriage. The singer added that she believed Antwaun when he said he and Paula separated in the summer of 2009.

The legal battle took a toll on Fantasia’s mental health. Apart from revealing that she got pregnant and aborted Antwaun’s child, she tried to kill herself by overdosing on pills.

Eventually, Paula dropped the lawsuit and divorce filing. Then in 2011, Fantasia gave birth to her son Dallas Xavier. Initially, she didn’t reveal who Dallas’ father was.

However, different sources reported that Antwaun was actually Dallas’ dad, and the fact that he frequently posts photos of the boy on social media seems to confirm the allegations.

Following the dramatic event, Antwaun requested people to stop blaming Fantasia for what happened as the only ones to blame for the failed marriage were Paula and him.

In 2013, about three years after the ordeal, Antwaun and Paula managed to work things out and got back together. Fantasia, on the other hand, started a family with her husband, Kendall Taylor.
