'Blue Bloods' Star Vanessa Ray Gets Candid about Her Bipolar Disorder Diagnosis
"Blue Bloods" actress Vanessa Ray recently shared in an interview about her experience with bipolar disorder that prompted her to seek professional help.
Vanessa Ray shared on Instagram that her palms are sweating and she has a lump in the throat. She then announced that she enjoyed being a guest on the Pink Lemonade Stand Podcast.
During the interview, the 39-year-old told hosts Nicole Kaplan and Heidi Webster that she experienced depression and anxiety feelings. But she was not sure what was happening to her at first.

"I kind of always thought, well that's just who I am," Ray said. "I'm just someone who can be out and bright one day and then I need four days to recover inside my house and I just want to sleep."
The depression eventually became totally unmanageable, she said. Ray shared that she was not eating healthy foods. She also began drinking and even using drugs.
For three months, Ray went to a mental hospital, where she was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She told the hosts that suddenly, things began to make sense to her.
Ray is also a great singer. She uses both her acting and singing abilities in the same roles.
Ray is now going out of her way to take care of her mental and physical health by exercising regularly and changing her diet. The actress also takes medication and stays in touch with loved ones.
The actress portrays the role of Eddie Janko on the hit drama television series that airs on CBS, "Blue Bloods." She is also known for her role on "Pretty Little Liars" as CeCe Drake.
Ray is also a great singer. She uses both her acting and singing abilities in the same roles. She had a cover rendition of "Let's Hear It for the Boy" from the film "Footloose."
As an actress, Ray preferred to play many different roles. Apparently, she is always challenged with something new. It ensures her that she keeps on honing her skills.
On June 24, 1981, Ray was born in Livermore, California, and grew up in Vancouver, Washington. Her parents were both involved in the theater. She later followed into the family business.
Ray announce on social media in March 2015 that she was engaged to Landon Beard, her boyfriend of six years. The couple tied the knot in June 2015 in eastern San Diego County, California.
