Ina Garten Posts Sweet Wedding Photo Celebrating 52nd Anniversary with Husband Jeffrey

Celebrity chef Ina Garten celebrated 52 years of married life with her husband, Jeffrey, and she got sentimental with the tribute post to her longtime love.

In 2018, Ina Garten celebrated her milestone 50 years of marriage to Jeffrey Garten with an epic throwback picture taken in 1972. But with more years to celebrate also came an older photo.

To mark a wonderful 52 years of marriage to Jeffrey, Garten took to social media with a snap taken at their wedding day, just as they were about to cut their cake.

THEIR LASTING LOVE

Garten can still remember the day her husband, Jeffrey, made her aware of his existence. The year was 1963, and Jeffrey decided to send Garten a letter with a picture of himself after spotting her in the street.

“I just remember running through the house and going, ‘Mom, Mom, you’ve got to see this picture of this guy. He’s so cute!'" Garten recalled during an interview with PEOPLE.

ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE

Fifty-seven years later, and they are still in love. On December 22, Jeffrey and Garten celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary, and the cookbook author paid tribute to the special day with a sweet throwback picture.

With a head full of interesting ideas about the world, he continues to leave Garten in awe.

Jeffrey was 22, and Garten 20, when they tied the knot in 1968, and she's grateful for having walked through life with him, as she wrote:

"Fifty-two years and still having so much fun! You gave me a life I could never have dreamed of. Happy Anniversary my love."

DISHING ON JEFFREY

During the interview with PEOPLE, Garten said that Jeffrey is the best friend anyone could wish for. His adorable "doofus guy" persona comes out at home, making a funny contrast to his intelligence.

Garten saw him publish several books, as Jeffrey's career weaved through banking, academia, and the government. With a head full of interesting ideas about the world, he continues to leave Garten in awe.

THE FUNNY MISUNDERSTANDING

The couple also texts each other often. Earlier this month, Ina Garten shared that they had been exchanging flirty text when one ended up going to another woman in California.

Jeffrey and the Californian woman are colleagues, and everyone laughed off the incident since she knew it was meant for Garten, even though Jeffrey understandably felt embarrassed by the whole situation.
